Triton College Summer Career Camps

There are a number of summer camps offered at Triton College this summer for high school students.  They are offered in June and registration closes May 20.  In order to register visit
http://dvr.revtrak.net and click on career camps.  You will be required to pay a $25 fee with a credit card but will be refunded the $25 once you complete the camp.  The camps being offered are listed below:

Health Careers Camp (June 20-22)-This camp will give students direct observation of healthcare careers.  Students will visit hospitals, fire department, and Triton's Health Career programs. 

Glimpse Into Childhood Education (June 18-21)-Learn what it takes to become a good teacher! Students will interact with children and observe in a classroom setting of students and teachers. 

Food Sanitation Certification (June18-19)- This camp provides you with the credential needed for the culinary profession.  Students must be at least 16 years old to participate in this camp. 

How to Save a Life (June 19)- Learn how to perform First Aid, give CPR, and use AED doing simulations on mannequins.  Once you complete the class you will receive your First Aid certification.  

What's Cookin? (June 18-21)- Students will work with chefs and bakers and learn hands on how to broil, grill, roast, and bake sumptuous desserts.  Students will visit a bakery, restaurant, and hotel to observe operations.   

Social Networking (June 18-21)- Find out more about the new jobs being created that use social networking skills to influence public opinion about politics, products, and social issues. 

Stop, Drop, and Roll (June 21)- Students will investigate the firefighting career and shadow and learn from firefighters. 

Holy Cow! Burgers Don't Grow on Trees (June 18-21)- Students will learn about the sciences of plants and animals including the growing process and environmental impact on society.

Be Your Own Myth Buster (June 18-21)- Students will work with real police officers and federal agents to use forensic techniques to catch criminals.  Some activities include crawling through a crime scene to collect evidence, learning how to fingerprint, and working with blood spatter evidence.
